| Client | A global B2B SaaS company (name withheld) |
| My role | Freelance link building and AI visibility specialist, working inside the client’s team |
| Period | 2026, ongoing |
| Focus | Getting the brand onto the pages that AI assistants and search engines cite for its category |
The problem
When buyers ask an AI assistant for the best tools in this category, the answers lean on a set of list articles, comparisons and reviews. The client had a list of those source pages, and most of them did not mention it.
What I did
- Worked through 618 of those source pages and checked each one for an existing mention: 386 did not mention the client and 65 did
- Found the right contact on each site and sent close to 400 personal outreach emails, each asking for a specific, useful update
- Negotiated updates and placements one by one, with every paid placement approved by the client’s team before it went ahead
- Kept each page’s status, price and outcome in one shared tracker, so the team could see what was live, pending or declined
Results so far
- 24 site owners approved an update in the first two months
- 18 deals in the current quarter, with 6 published between 1 and 15 October 2026
What to keep in mind
Many sites in this category only update for a fee, and AI answers change often, so this is an ongoing programme rather than a one-off. These figures are a snapshot from October 2026.
